        Joint NCBEA/IBEA Convention

Any activities that you personally have been involved in to promote your state, regional, or national association?

1.     Requested NCBEA state lists of lapsed, soon-to-lapse members in May, June

2.     Received compiled list July 26 with these comments from Jan Treichel: 

“Bill, this is the busiest time of the year for receiving membership renewals so we have some in house that have not been entered into the database (as of this printing), and others that will be arriving daily.  You might suggest to the membership directors that they should use these labels ASAP to minimize the overlap of renewals coming in with the solicitations they are sending out.  They might also want to put a statement in their message to the effect, that “if they have recently sent in their dues, their payment and this message have probably crossed in the mail; we appreciate their renewal and they don’t need to respond to this message.”  Or, something to that effect.

 

     I would suggest that, in addition to working the renewal list, you encourage each state membership director to identify potential new members by contacting the state business education association and state supervisor for names and send new member solicitations to those people.  Because not everyone will renew, that’s the best way to retain the current number of members and gain additional members to reach their goal.”
