SUBJECT:
Student Representative to
NCBEA Executive Board
Each year we select a student to
serve one year on our Executive Board, and we feel it is a valuable experience
for them, and seeing the workings of a professional organization and promoting
business education.
It is now that time again to
nominate one or more of your outstanding business education students to serve on
the NCBEA Administrative Board for the coming year. The 2008-2009 student
representative will be chosen prior to May 1. The 2008 NCBEA Convention is
in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Thursday-Saturday, October 2-4, 2008, at the
Amway-DeVos
Center (Hotel/convention
center). The student representative must be available to attend this
convention. For the NCBEA meeting, flight/travel is reimbursed by NCBEA,
along with ½ of 1 night’s stay in a shared room. There are also first-time attendee $200
stipends for attending that the student may apply for, and should
do so immediately after being selected. This is the NCBEA PAST PRESIDENT
STIPEND, and listed on our website: www.ncbea.net. Students must join NBEA at
the student price—located on the NBEA website under membership: www.nbea.org.
The NBEA convention will be at the
Chicago Marriott April 9-12 (Wednesday-Saturday), and our NCBEA board also
meeting there on Tuesday evening, and it would be great if they could also
attend that meeting. NCBEA is the host region and it is close for the
Midwest states. NCBEA has agreed to pay
the flight for the student (or drive), and a $150 reimbursement for other
expenses. They may also apply for the NBEA first-time attendee $200
stipend, which comes out in the December issue of the NBEA Forum magazine for
the following spring’s convention.
